Reduce our environmental footprint
By joining forces, we believe that every action counts in reducing our environmental footprint. Every product we design and every decision we make brings us closer to this shared goal. We proudly commit to continuously innovating and progressing towards a future where sustainability is at the core of everything we do.
Our commitment to sustainability guides all our actions. It rests on three essential pillars in our industry: designing sustainable products, choosing recycled and/or recyclable packaging, and implementing responsible transportation methods.
IMPROVING OUR PRODUCT COMPOSITION
To date, 80% of our Made to Order (MTO) products are crafted with at least 75% low-impact materials. We primarily use recycled polyester and organic cotton, which offer two key benefits: they help reduce our carbon footprint and provide more environmentally friendly alternatives.
Additionally, our entire range is designed to be machine washable at 40 degrees Celsius, offering unparalleled convenience to players. Furthermore, 40% of our products require only a 30-degree wash, which saves energy and preserves material quality.
Beyond product composition, we are committed to developing robust equipment specially designed to meet the demands of rugby. Each new product undergoes rigorous testing, both on the field and in independent laboratories, to ensure its strength, durability, and quality, so it can accompany you for as long as possible.
TOWARDS 100% SUSTAINABLE MTO PRODUCTS
We recognize the need for progress in our industry. Our Spring-Summer 2024 collection, made from 93% recycled materials, exemplifies this commitment. But our vision goes further. We are charting a clear path to enhance the sustainability of our entire range, from stocked rugby equipment to MTO products, with ambitious and solid goals shaped by our values, company priorities, and stakeholder expectations.
Over the next four years, we aim to expand our range of sustainable products to significantly contribute to an environmentally friendly future. This commitment reflects our dedication to quality, innovation, and responsibility.
To be considered sustainable, each product must meet strict criteria: it must be made of at least 75% low-impact materials, free from harmful chemical finishes, and packaged in recycled and/or recyclable materials.
We are firmly committed to achieving our goals throughout our value chain. For example, we aim to make all our packaging—from product labels to plastic bags and shipping cartons—recyclable or made from recycled materials by 2025. This initiative illustrates our dedication to preserving our planet for future generations.
However, we know this achievement cannot be realised alone. We rely on our long-standing relationships with suppliers to support our decarbonization efforts. Additionally, we will closely collaborate with partners to develop innovative materials and recycling technologies. By joining forces, we are confident we can make a significant and lasting impact on our environment.
POSITIVE BUSINESS STRATEGY
Our commitment to sustainability is deeply rooted in our mission. Furthermore, we fully support Pentland Brands' Positive Business strategy. This ambitious initiative aims to positively impact the lives of 100 million consumers by encouraging them to adopt an active and environmentally friendly lifestyle while improving the living conditions of one million people within our communities.
Finally, our ambition does not stop there. We have also set a goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2032. This promise goes beyond words. It reflects our commitment to our planet and its inhabitants, present and future. By joining forces, we believe it is possible to create a better and more sustainable future for all. That is why we strive every day to push the boundaries of our achievements while staying true to our values and our commitment to a greener and fairer future.
